Kenneth Otten is an industry leading expert in the Americans with Disabilities Act and related state laws protecting the rights of persons with disabilities, especially in the area of accessible design and construction. He is President of Otten Consulting Group, Inc., a Houston-based consultancy that has served clients in 24 states. He has been recognized as an expert in the field of ADA compliance by the federal courts, having served as expert witness or provided litigation support in a number of landmark ADA lawsuits. 
His firm has conducted large-scale audits and surveys for a diverse range of clients, including the Mississippi Bureau of Building, Ground and Real Property Management (assessed all the buildings in the state Capitol Complex; all the building in the State’s system of higher education, including those of Mississippi State, Jackson State, Ole Miss, Alcorn State, Delta State, the University of Mississippi, etc.; and all the buildings in the State prison system.) In 2008, the firm assessed nearly 680 Macy’s across the country and in Puerto Rico. They were the ADA consultants during a statewide assessment of all public schools in Arkansas and have assessed and developed ADA Transition Plans for more than 2500 public school facilities across the country.
As a firm of Registered Accessibility Specialists for the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, they approve construction documents and certify commercial construction for compliance with the Texas Accessibility Standards.
His firm also develops the leading web-based ADA compliance software and tablet-based electronic survey tools known as FREDA (Facility REporting DAtabase).
In 2009, he partnered with Eric Dynes to form a studio portrait business in Denver, Colorado called Picture Us Portraits. This exciting new venture provides family portrait and other photography services in malls and other venues across the country and is enjoying tremendous success due to the company’s reasonable pricing, emphasis on using only the highest quality photographic equipment and supplies, and its passion for excellence in customer service.
Ken lives in Houston and is married to his wonderful wife, Joi. Together they have seven awesome kids, two grandsons and an increasingly large group of extended family and friends.
